Easy Makeup Tips for Glasses Wearers

By bareMinerals | July 24, 2015

Just because you wear glasses, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with your makeup — even eye makeup. Regardless of the style your frames, if you wear them everyday or only sometimes, we’ve got tips to staying flawlessly four-eyed.

Prep Your Skin

To avoid being caught with lines from your frames, apply Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream along the bridge of your nose and apples of your cheeks.

 Conceal Your Undereyes

Glasses can magnify dark circles, so start with a great concealer (we recommend one with SPF to protect the delicate eye area).

Shape Your Brows

Since your specs draw attention to your eyebrows, it’s important to keep them on point. Check out this video for pro tips.

Switch Up Your Eyeliner

Bust out of the black rut and experiment with different eyeliner shades—especially brown, deep purple or navy—that accentuate your naturally gorgeous eyes.

Pro tip: Rocking a cat eye? Shape the flick of the wing to the top corner of your glasses.

Go For a Natural Shadow

Go bold with your liner, but stick to neutral eyeshadows that won’t compete with your frames.

Avoid Smudging

Long lashes can smear mascara on your lenses, so begin by curling your lashes upward. Choose a volumizing mascara over one that lengthens.

Embrace a Bold Lip

Finish your look with a swipe of gloss, or dress it up with a deep, bold lipstick. A dramatic pout is the perfect complement to glasses of any color.
