If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
Hold off on the blusher and baby pink lip gloss every day. Subtle is always best.
In your life and line of work, what makes 24-hour foundation so important?
I often head out for 9am meetings and don’t return until after 7pm, with a full day of face-to-face meetings with beauty and fashion teams in between. I hate the idea of being sat in front of someone who knows their beauty products when all I can think about is my non-existent foundation. I always want to look my absolute best if I’m representing myself.
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
I always swear by extra concealer for the end of the day when you literally just need to brighten your undereyes again. And a bold cherry red lip to finish.
If you could spend 24 hours in any city where would you go and what would you do?
I would probably say Rio. I have never been to that area of the world and it looks like the most vibrant, exciting city ever.

What’s one unexpected thing you carry with you all day and all night?
I almost always have peppermint oil in my purse and near my bed. I get really bad headaches and I find the oil helps take the edge off. Also it smells awesome! Just don’t get it in your eyes…
In your life and line of work, what makes a 24-hour foundation so important?
There’s a lot of times where I go from filming a YouTube video straight to a work event without time for touch ups. It’s crucial for me that a foundation holds up under my filming lights and then lasts through a dinner meeting or party.
If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
Drink more water. Waaaaaaay more water.
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
Haha, that’s easy: I just wear an “evening” makeup look all day long and don’t change it. I like dramatic makeup and I’m more than comfortable wearing a bold look all day long.
If you could spend 24 hours in any city where would you go and what would you do?
I’d go to New York City. It’s one of my favourite places on the planet. Also because it’s literally “The City That Never Sleeps” I’d be able to fill that 24 hours with lots of activities. There’s a ton of amazing places I haven’t been yet though so that’s a tough question!

What’s one unexpected thing you carry with you all day and all night?
I really don’t have any “unexpected” things that I carry with me at all times, but a few predictable things you won’t find me without are a good lip balm, lip liner and setting powder.
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
I love adding a bold lip color, a blinding cheekbone highlight or sleek winged liner to my daytime look to take it from day to night.
In your life and line of work, what makes a 24-hour foundation so important?
I’m a part time digital project manager and full time content creator and influencer so I often have literally have to go straight from my 9-5 to after work events or shoots. So having a foundation that still looks great after hours on the go, without having to reapply or touch-up, is crucial for me.
If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
LESS IS MORE.
If you could spend 24 hours in any city where would you go and what would you do?
I’d choose Tokyo and I would go on a little food tour and try all of the interesting and different cuisines, hit up some really unique shopping spots, people watch and just explore the city and its rich culture.

What’s one unexpected thing you carry with you all day and all night?
A fidget spinner. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a fad.
In your life and line of work, what makes a 24-hour foundation so important?
Some days can go on a lot longer. From a shoot to a work dinner or event and I want to look the same when I arrive on set to when I leave.
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
Face mist, more lip and more mascara, brush the brows. OK thats four but they’re really quick, promise.
If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
Leave your brows alone. And don’t cake on the makeup.

What’s one unexpected thing you carry with you all day and all night?
Cuticle oil. Recently engaged, I’m constantly asked to show off my new bling so my digits must appear manicured at all times. I find that a quick dab of cuticle oil across each nail bed and then rubbing my hands together works wonders.
In your life and line of work, what makes a 24-hour foundation so important?
I wear many hats in a day. When running from an early morning shoot to the office, to a blog event, it’s comforting to know that my skin will look great all day without stopping for a make up check. Even on weekends, there’s no telling who you might bump into at any moment on the street of NYC. You have to be always on, and a 24-hour foundation helps me achieve that.
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
I like simple make up looks, even at night. I’ll add a little wing to my eyeliner and dot something shimmery in the inner corner of each eye if I’m really feeling festive.
If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
Pencil in your eyebrows.
If you could spend 24 hours in any city where would you go and what would you do?
That is such a tough one! I love off-the-beaten-path destinations like Chefchaouen, Morocco. The entire city is washed in blue. I’d spend the day shopping and snapping pics through the souks and blue maze-like streets before hopping in a taxi to the tucked away waterfalls nearby where you can take a dip in the rock pools after a day of exploring.

What’s one unexpected thing you carry with you all day and all night?
Wipes! I carry antibacterial wipes, makeup wipes… all kinds of wipes. Any wipe you can think of and I’m about it.
In your life and line of work, what makes a 24-hour foundation so important?
I always want to be photo ready; whether it’s in the beginning of the day or the end of the night I want my foundation to look flawless!
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
Adding a bold lip is always a good way to switch up your makeup look. I like to add a bright red or a deep purple to make it nighttime ready.
If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
Put on sunscreen, girl! I never cared much about it when I was younger and I wish I did.
If you could spend 24 hours in any city where would you go and what would you do?
I would go back to Interlaken in Switzerland but this time bring my dogs so we could romp around the meadows and climb mountains. Pretty much anywhere in the outdoors I can bring my dogs is the best thing I can imagine!

A pink quartz; I truly believe that minerals have the capacity to purify your energy.
In your life and line of work, what makes a 24-hour foundation so important?
Usually I don’t have time to go back home to retouch my makeup; I’m constantly running between meetings, shoots and events, which is why having a base that lasts 24 hours is fundamental in my beauty routine.
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
Always carry a red lipstick in your bag; it transforms a daytime look into a glamorous polished look in seconds.
If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
I would tell teenage Haru that her Asian features make her unique and that there is nothing imperfect about her.
If you could spend 24 hours in any city where would you go and what would you do?
I would go to Tokyo touring around, shopping, eating sushi and taking pictures.

What’s one unexpected thing you carry with you all day and all night?
Allergy medicine.
In your life and line of work, what makes a 24-hour foundation so important?
In New York, you’re constantly on the go. From the gym in the morning to work, then to an event or dinner, you want something that will last throughout and not have to worry about. You never have time to go home and freshen up or even reapply your makeup sometimes, so it’s important that whatever I have on will be good to last me throughout the entire day.
If you could give your teenage self one piece of beauty advice what would it be?
Stay natural and true to what you really look like. I never believed in altering my appearance in an extreme way but I definitely wanted to look older when I was young and wore more makeup to do this. Now, it’s the complete opposite and I feel my best when I look the most natural.
What’s your favorite day-to-night makeup trick?
Eyeliner on my top lash line!
If you could spend 24 hours in any city where would you go and what would you do?
Tokyo! I have never been and I am dying to go vintage shopping there. I’ve heard the best things about Tokyo and I would just eat everything and buy all of the cute things like stickers, stuffed animals and all that!
