3 Glowy, Spring-Ready Looks, Starring Our Brand New BLONZER

Is your makeup ready for spring? This year, we’re loving a sun-kissed flush and glossy, hydrated lips — which is why we’re so excited to welcome our new GEN NUDE BLONZER. This clean, hybrid face color combines the rosiness of a blush with the warm glow of a bronzer in one swipe. Our BLONZER campaign is all about embracing this sunny look by pairing the luminosity of BLONZER with fresh, glowing skin and glistening lips (made possible by our new MINERALIST Lip Gloss-Balm).

We asked Carly Giglio (@carlygiglio), Global Makeup Artist at bareMinerals, to break down these glowy looks, step by step. Each makeup look is built around one of the three BLONZER shades: Kiss of Pink (a warm pink), Kiss of Copper (a copper peach), and Kiss of Rose (a bronzed rose). 

In addition to its silky, blendable formula, BLONZER also has a unique application technique. Since it’s meant to emulate a sun-kissed flush, we suggest applying it in the areas where the sun naturally hits you, creating a “W” shape across your face. Start by placing a fluffy brush like the Seamless Shaping & Finish Brush on the outer bridge of your nose, sweeping in a “U” shape, downward to the apple of the cheek and up toward the temple. Repeat on the other side. Finally, connect the “W” by sweeping continuously from one cheek, over the nose, to the other cheek.

Kiss of Pink 

What you’ll need:

ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Foundation (Chi’s shades are Medium Tan and Golden Beige)
ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Concealer (Chi’s shade is Light Medium 2.5N)
GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral (Use shade Believer)
STRENGTH & LENGTH Serum-Infused Mascara
GEN NUDE Blonzer in shade Kiss of Pink
MINERALIST Gloss-Balm in shade Enlightenment

How to get the look:

• Start with ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Foundation using the DOT, SWEEP, PRESS technique for seamless, easy application.
• Brighten your under eyes using ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Concealer. 
• Next, create a shimmering wash of color on your eyes. Sweep the shade Believer from the GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral onto your eyelid and wrap around to your lower lash line.
• Define your lashes by applying 1-2 coats of STRENGTH & LENGTH Serum-Infused Mascara. 
• Add color to the cheeks in a “W” formation using GEN NUDE Blonzer in the shade Kiss of Pink.
• Finish your look with a swipe of MINERALIST Gloss-Balm in the shade Enlightenment.

Pro tip:

• When applying ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Concealer, remember you don’t need a lot of product. The formula has a great stretch to it, so build coverage as needed and remember it’s always easier to add more than remove.

Kiss of Copper

What you’ll need:

ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Foundation (Alana’s shade is Medium Tan)
ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Concealer (Alana’s shade is Medium Tan 3.5N)
GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral (Use a light, shimmering pink shade)
STRENGTH & LENGTH Serum-Infused Mascara
GEN NUDE Blonzer in shade Kiss of Copper
MINERALIST Gloss-Balm in shade Ingenuity

How to get the look:

• If desired, lightly sweep additional Blonzer on high points of your face like your forehead — you can even apply it to your shoulders and collar bone.

Kiss of Rose

What you’ll need:

COMPLEXION RESCUE Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream SPF 30 (Enga’s shade is 10.5)
ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Concealer (Enga’s shades are Dark 5W and 6C))
GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Rose (Use shade Boho)
STRENGTH & LENGTH Serum-Infused Mascara
GEN NUDE Blonzer in shade Kiss of Rose
MINERALIST Gloss-Balm in shade Love

How to get the look:

• Start with COMPLEXION RESCUE Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream SPF 30 for a hydrating, glowy skin tint.
• Brighten your under eyes and add any additional coverage to your skin using ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Concealer. 
• Sweep the shade Boho from the GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Rose onto your eyelid and diffuse up to your brow bone.
•  Define your lashes by applying 1-2 coats of STRENGTH & LENGTH Serum-Infused Mascara. 
• Add color to the cheeks in a “W” formation using GEN NUDE Blonzer in the shade Kiss of Rose.
• Finish your look with a swipe of MINERALIST Gloss-Balm in the shade Love.

Pro tip:

• Try layering two shades of Blonzer to create your own custom color.

With a decade of industry experience, including red carpet and editorial photoshoots, brand creative campaigns and New York Fashion Week, Carly is all about the details when it comes to creating beauty looks.
