Embrace The Beauty of Nature With These Tropics-Inspired Looks

Here at bareMinerals, we love creating clean beauty products that reflect nature’s beauty, because after all, our color and artistry inspiration comes from the world around us. For our 2020 limited-edition spring collection, THE BEAUTY OF NATURE, we looked to the colors and textures of the tropics — from bright flowers and verdant palm leaves to sandy beaches and sunny skies. Like all bareMinerals products, this collection is infused with good-for-skin minerals and botanicals, making it a true oasis within any beauty lover’s makeup bag.   

To fully embrace the essence of this collection, we’re showing you how to create two nature-inspired looks from our campaign. The first showcases how multiple eye shadow shades can combine for a smoky, sophisticated, look. The second explores the possibility of a soft-focus eye with a bold statement lip. We asked Carly Giglio (@carlygiglio), Global Makeup Artist at bareMinerals, to break down each of these dreamy, colorful looks, step by step. Colorful Smoky Eye

What to use:

COMPLEXION RESCUE Hydrating Tinted Gel Cream (Ruby’s shade is Tan)
The Beauty of Nature GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Natural Oasis
Smoky Smudger Brush
ENDLESS GLOW Highlighter in shade Free

How to get the look:

• For your eyeshadow, use The Beauty of Nature GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Natural Oasis. First, apply the shade Papaya all over the lid.
• Next, use the Smoky Smudger Brush to smoke out the shade Palm Leaf from the root of your lash line to below the crease.
• Where the Palm Leaf shade ends, apply Red Hibiscus to create a gradation of color up to just below your brow bone.
• To brighten the eye area, apply ENDLESS GLOW Highlighter to the inner corner of your eye.
• To frame the face, fill in your brows with small hair-like strokes, starting in the middle of the arch.
• Define your eyes with two coats of LASHTOPIA Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara
• For some added warmth, apply The Beauty of Nature GEN NUDE Powder Blush in shade That Peach Tho, sweeping it across the cheeks and up toward the ear.
• Tap the same highlighter you used on the inner corner of your eyes in a C-shape from the top of your cheekbones up to your temple.
• Finish the look with a lip color that doesn’t detract from the eyes. We used  MINERALIST Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick in shade Memory, a universally flattering neutral rose.

Pro Tip: For a flawless smoky eye, use the most color at the root of your lashes. This creates a beautiful gradation of color — from dark to light — that’s flattering on all eye shapes.

What to use:

How to get the look:

• On your eyes, use The Beauty of Nature GEN NUDE Eyeshadow Palette in Natural Oasis. First, apply the shade Sandy Beach all over the lid. Then, create a wash of color around your entire eye by buffing Red Hibiscus from lash line to the crease with the Shade & Diffuse Eye Brush.
• Next, mix the shades Shimmering Sunset and Cabana and smudge your custom shade on your top lash line, around the outer edge of the eye, and then on the lower lash line. For the best results, we suggest using the angled side of the Expert Shadow & Liner Brush.
• To frame the face, fill in your brows with small hair-like strokes, starting in the middle of the arch.
• Define your eyes with one or two coats of LASHTOPIA Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara.
• Next, use your fingers to tap BAREPRO GLOW Highlighter in a C-shape from the top of your cheekbones up to your temple.
• To add color to the face, sweep The Beauty of Nature GEN NUDE Powder Blush in shade Call My Blush onto the apples of the cheeks and up toward the ear.
• To finish the entire look, fill in the lips with MINERALIST Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick in shade Purpose, a cool cranberry. One swipe ensures maximum color impact.

Pro Tip: Apply your liquid highlighter before your blush to enhance your skin’s natural points of radiance.
